Twenty-one years after it was “born,” the Children’s Fountain gets a party.
The Children’s Fountain at North Oak and Northeast 32nd Avenue will have a 21st birthday event Tuesday — aptly scheduled to begin at 11:21 a.m., sponsored by the Kansas City Parks Department and the City of Fountains Foundation.
The fountain and its sculptures of six children recently had extensive renovations. It is one of many Kansas City fountains for which the foundation has conducted a fundraising campaign to augment the city’s maintenance budget.
